This is Ivy Bush Cottage in Llanddewi Brefi. It’s in a row of three old stone cottages, right in the village. You can walk to two pubs from the door, both do food.
It sleeps four. Two double bedrooms, both ensuite. The main one has a shower room, and there’s a family bathroom with a bath and shower over it. It’s got a 5 Star rating. The stairs are cottage stairs, so they turn a corner and are a bit steep.
Inside, it’s one open plan room downstairs. Kitchen, dining table, and a sitting area with two sofas. There’s a wood burner. The kitchen has a dishwasher and washing machine. There’s a desk if you need to work. Upstairs, the bedrooms are under the eaves with exposed beams.
You get a garden front and back, both enclosed. There’s a bench in each to catch the sun. Parking is on site. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Bedding and towels are included.
The village is very rural. Tregaron is about three miles away for shops and a petrol station. It has a monthly sheep market. The Cors Caron National Nature Reserve is just outside Tregaron, good for walks and birdwatching.
The coast is about a 35-minute drive. Aberystwyth has the promenade and pier. Aberaeron is a pretty harbour town. There are boat trips from New Quay to see dolphins if the season is right.
For walking, you’re on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains. A detailed map is useful. For local information, the Visit Ceredigion site has details. If you’re planning to visit historic sites, Cadw manages the Welsh castles and monuments.
