Ty Gwair

This is Ty Gwair. It's a converted barn on our smallholding near Betws Bledrws. It's detached and quiet. We finished the renovation in 2022, so everything inside is new and works properly.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both downstairs, and two bathrooms. One bathroom is en-suite. The main room is open plan with a wood burner and a Smart TV. The wifi is decent. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. We allow two.

Because it's our farm, there are fields around. You're welcome to walk in them if the animals aren't in that particular field. Just ask us. There's a bridleway right from the yard that goes into Longwood Community Woodland. It's 300 acres with proper paths. The visitor centre there has maps.

Lampeter is about three miles away. It's a market town with supermarkets, a few pubs, and the usual shops. For the coast, New Quay is the closest proper seaside place. The beach there is good. Aberaeron is about ten miles north. It's a nice harbour town with colourful houses and good fish and chips. You often see dolphins from the shore. Boat trips go out from there and New Quay.

Aberystwyth is a bit further, maybe half an hour. It's a university town with a pier, a promenade, and the cliff railway. The view from the top is worth it.

If you want a day out, the Dolaucothi Gold Mines are run by the National Trust. The red kite feeding centre at Bwlch Nant Yr Arian is about a 25 minute drive. You can watch hundreds of them come in to feed.

Practical stuff: there's a washing machine, parking for two cars right outside, and all bedding and towels are included. The property has a 4 Star rating. It's all on one level apart from one step into the building, so it's mostly accessible.
