Red Kite Lodge Stags Head

Red Kite Lodge is on our smallholding near Stags Head in Ceredigion. It's a detached house we built in 2020, so everything's still in good order. It's got a 5 Star rating, which basically means it's well equipped and comfortable.

It sleeps seven across four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps with a full house. One bedroom is on the ground floor with its own walk-in shower room. That one has a king-size bed that can be made into twins if you ask. Upstairs, the main bedroom has a super king bed and an en-suite, and there's a small child's single bed in a room attached to it. Another king-size room has its own en-suite, and there's a separate single room.

Downstairs is all open plan with high ceilings. There are patio doors out to the garden. The kitchen has a breakfast bar. Underfloor heating throughout. We've left a gate open to a fenced area at the front where your private hot tub is.

The garden at the back is enclosed. About 150 yards down the track there's a spot by the River Teifi. We've put a bench there so you can sit and listen to the water. The property sits within 17 acres of our land. That includes about 5 acres of woodland you're welcome to walk in, and a paddock if anyone wants to bring a horse. The river is known for fishing.

You're between the village of Llanddewi Brefi and the town of Tregaron. Tregaron has a good few walks, a Red Kite feeding centre, and sometimes trotting races. The shop is about two miles away, the pub about a mile and a half.

Aberystwyth is about half an hour's drive. It's got a castle, the promenade, a theatre, and the cliff railway. Aberaeron is a bit closer, a nice harbour town with colourfully painted houses. The coast road from there up to Aberystwyth is a good drive.

Facilities: we include bedding and towels. There's a washing machine and dishwasher. WiFi. On-site parking and bike storage. The entrance and ground floor are wheelchair accessible. You can bring one well-behaved dog. We can also be booked together with our other cottage, Felin Hedd, next door if you've got a bigger group.
