Lochside House is in Letterfearn, right on the shore of Loch Duich. It’s a detached house with a big garden. The main thing is the view. You look straight out at the loch and the mountains.
It sleeps eight people. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating. It’s comfortable, and everything works. It’s well looked after.
You can sit in the living room, the kitchen, or even a couple of the bedrooms and just watch the water. The patio is good for that. There’s a BBQ out there too.
The facilities are what you’d expect: dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and a highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
A pub that does food is about five miles away in Shiel Bridge. The nearest shop and fuel is a few miles further in Inverinate.
If you want to go out, you’re in a good spot. Eilean Donan Castle is very close. You can see it from places nearby. The National Trust for Scotland looks after a lot of the land here, like Kintail. The ferry to the Isle of Skye leaves from Glenelg, which is about a half hour drive. Plockton village is also within half an hour.
The house is really about the location. You can fish or get a boat out on the loch. The walking and cycling right from the door is proper Highland stuff.
