This is Lag Cottage. It’s an old croft cottage in Dornie, built in the 1800s and it's been in the same family since then. It was completely redone in 2020.
It sleeps two people. There are two bedrooms upstairs. One double, one twin. They share a shower room in between them. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
The cottage is right on the shore of Loch Long. You get the garden to yourself, it's enclosed. There’s direct access to the water from there if you want to put a kayak in, and there’s a mooring if you have a boat. The slipway at Dornie is only a couple of minutes away if you need it.
Inside, the kitchen is big and modern with everything you’d need. The living room has a wood burning stove. The stairs are steep. That’s just how it is in these old houses.
Dornie village is a short walk up the loch. There's a shop, a hotel with a bar, and a restaurant. It's all right on the water. You pass Eilean Donan Castle on the way in. It's the one you see in all the pictures.
For walking, you can go straight from the door up the loch and into the hills. A short drive gets you to more trails, like the Kintail Sisters. Skye is about 40 minutes away if you want to explore over there.
It has parking, WiFi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
