Lag Cottage is in Dornie, on Loch Long. It's a proper old croft house from the 1800s. The same family built it and they've just done it up.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, a double and a twin, with a shower room between them. It's got a 4 Star rating. The stairs are normal.
The kitchen is new and has everything. The living room has a wood burner. The views are the main thing though. You look right out over the loch to the mountains from the front, and out the back to the hills.
The garden is small and enclosed. It's right on the loch shore, so you can get straight onto the water if you have kayaks. There's a mooring if you've got a boat. The slipway at Dornie is a couple of minutes away.
Dornie village is a short walk. There's a shop, a hotel with a bar, and a restaurant. Eilean Donan Castle is just outside the village on the way in. You'll pass it.
You can walk from the door up the loch and into the hills. For bigger walks, the Kintail area is about a half hour drive. The bridge to Skye is about 25 minutes away.
It's a good base. You've got Glen Shiel, Plockton, and Applecross all within a 30 minute drive too.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included. No pets.
