This is An Dobhran, our place. It's in Dornie, right on the side of Loch Duich.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bedroom is upstairs with a kingsize bed and a bathroom with a bath. The bedroom downstairs can be either a twin or a super kingsize, and it's next to the shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. The house was built by my family on our croft.
All the rooms look out at the loch. The main living space is open-plan with high ceilings and big windows. It feels very spacious. There's a little gallery area above that we use as a study, so you can sit up there and read or work if you need to. It's well insulated and has underfloor heating, so it's always warm. There's also an electric car charger.
You're on a quiet road, but it's only a couple of minutes from the main road to Skye. You can sit outside at the house. The view is the main thing. We've seen otters, herons, and eagles from the windows. We leave binoculars for you.
Eilean Donan Castle is about a ten minute walk away. There's a good bar that does food about 500 yards down the road. A local bakery and a gin place are a 15 minute walk.
The Isle of Skye is roughly half an hour's drive. If you like walking, you're well placed for the hills. For a wider look at things to do, the Visit Scotland Highlands page is useful, and the National Trust for Scotland has good information on local sites.
In the house there's a dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We leave you a welcome pack with some local things when you arrive.
