An Dobhran is a house we built on our family croft, right next to Loch Duich. It's detached. The view is across the loch, and it's the same from every room.
It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern, well insulated, and has underfloor heating. There's an electric car charger if you need it.
The main living area is open plan with a high ceiling. There's a galleried study area upstairs that looks over the room. It's a good spot if someone needs to work or just read. We've left binoculars there for watching the shore. You might see otters or eagles.
Upstairs is a kingsize bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Downstairs, the bedroom has a zip-and-link bed so it can be either a twin or a super king. That's next to a separate shower room. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
You're about five minutes' drive from Eilean Donan Castle. The village of Dornie is just a bit further on. There's a pub about 500 yards up the quiet road. They do food and sometimes have live music. A local bakery and a gin maker are about a fifteen minute walk.
You're well placed for Skye. It's about half an hour's drive to the bridge. If you want to walk, you can pick up paths from the door. For a wider range of walks and historic sites, the National Trust for Scotland has good information.
In the house you'll find a washing machine, dishwasher, Wi-Fi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. We leave a welcome pack with some local things for you. No pets, I'm afraid.
