Loch Long View is in Sallachy, a bit north of Kyle of Lochalsh. It's a detached cottage made of wood, standing on its own big bit of land. You're up high, so the view over the loch and the mountains is just there. The garden is large and there's a lot of space around you.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both upstairs, and two bathrooms, one on each floor. It has a 4 Star rating. The whole place has French oak floors, which are nice underfoot. The living room has a big wood burner that heats the place well.
Being a modern build, the stairs are fine, not steep like an old cottage. The windows are large and you look straight down the loch from most of them. There's a small unfenced loch up the hill behind the house with trout in it. It's not deep but kids need watching. The croft is 500 acres, with sheep and Highland cows, so you'll see them out the window. You might see deer or eagles too.
The Isle of Skye bridge is about ten minutes drive, so it's a good base for there. Applecross and Torridon are also within easy reach for dramatic drives and walks. The nearest shop and pub is three and a half miles away in Dornie.
In terms of what's here: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Useful links if you're planning trips: Walkhighlands for routes and National Trust for Scotland.
