Loch Long View

Loch Long View is a cottage in Sallachy, in the Scottish Highlands. It's detached and on its own piece of land. The name is accurate, the view of the loch from the house is the main thing.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. They're both upstairs. One's a double, one has twin beds. There are two bathrooms, one downstairs and one between the bedrooms upstairs. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable.

It's on a 500-acre croft, so there are sheep and Highland cattle around. You'll see red deer sometimes too. The garden is big. Out the back, up the hill, there's a small lochan with trout in it. It's not fenced, so you need to watch children.

Inside, it's all wood floors which are easy to keep clean. The living room has a large wood burner. The kitchen gets the morning light. It has a dishwasher and a washing machine.

The local shop, pub, and a restaurant are about three and a half miles away in Dornie. The bridge to the Isle of Skye is about a ten minute drive. You can be in Portree in under an hour. If you drive the other way, the mountains around Torridon and Applecross are about forty minutes.

You can bring one dog. The bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.

For local information, the National Trust for Scotland looks after lots of sites nearby. And Walkhighlands is very good for planning walks.
