Clear Waters
Clear Waters is just outside Dornie village. It's a detached bungalow, so everything's on one level. The front looks straight out over Loch Long. The view is the main thing about it, to be honest. It's all hills and water.
It sleeps seven in three bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, which helps with a full house. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The furniture is what you'd expect.
You get a covered veranda at the front to sit out on. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing dogs. We take up to two. Inside it's open plan.
Eilean Donan Castle is literally down the road. You can walk to it in a few minutes. It's as famous as they say. The shop and the pub in Dornie are about a quarter of a mile away. The pub does meals.
You're in a good spot for getting out. The Kyle of Lochalsh and the bridge to Skye are about a 15 minute drive. Plockton is lovely for a wander, that's maybe 20 minutes. Applecross is a bit further but the drive over the pass is spectacular.
For facilities, you've got parking, wifi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
If you're planning trips, the National Trust for Scotland site has good information, and Walkhighlands is very useful for routes.
