Ty Cae Mawr

This is Ty Cae Mawr. It's in Gowerton, on the edge of the Gower Peninsula. It's one of several cottages here, on a working farm.

The cottage sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. It feels private, though, with its own patio area to sit out on.

The inside is open plan, all on one level. The bedroom has an en suite shower room. There's a washing machine, TV, and Wi-Fi. Bedding and towels are included.

On the farm there's a shared games room with a pool table and table tennis. You're welcome to walk around the thirty acres of land.

Gowerton village is about half a mile away. There's a shop and a pub. The train station there is handy for trips to Swansea or further into west Wales.

The coast is the main reason people come. Some of the Gower beaches are ten, maybe fifteen minutes' drive. Rhossili Bay is spectacular, a proper three-mile stretch of sand. It's looked after by the National Trust. For something smaller, there are lots of coves and bays all around the peninsula. The coastal path is good for walking.

Swansea is about fifteen minutes by car. That's where you'll find the main shops, restaurants, and the marina. The Mumbles is a bit closer, with its promenade and pier.

If you want to go further, the National Botanic Garden of Wales is about half an hour away, near Carmarthen. Cardiff is about an hour's drive east.

Useful links for planning: Visit Wales Gower page and the National Trust for Rhossili.

There's parking here. No pets, sorry.
