Ty Ysgubor
Ty Ysgubor is on our farm in Gowerton. It’s a converted barn, one of a few cottages here. It’s part of a bigger yard, but you get your own patio and garden area at the back.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms upstairs, and a family bathroom. One of the bedrooms is a double, the other is a single. The rating is 4 Star, which means it’s comfortable and well looked after.
The stairs are a standard flight, a bit narrower than a modern house maybe. The walls are thick, which keeps the place cool in summer and warmer when it's chilly.
The place looks out over our 30 acres of farmland. It’s quiet. You'll see sheep. From the house, it’s about half a mile walk into Gowerton village. There’s a shop and a couple of pubs there. The local train station is in the village, too, if you fancy going into Swansea or further along the coast without the car.
The Gower beaches are the main draw. Langland Bay is about four miles by road, a fifteen minute drive. For a bigger, open beach, Rhossili Bay is fantastic. It's a bit further, maybe forty minutes. Both are National Trust. The coastal path runs all along here and it's superb for walking.
In the other direction, Swansea is only four or five miles away. All the big shops and the marina are there. The National Trust Gower site is good for planning walks. For local heritage, Cadw has details on castles like nearby Weobley.
On site, there's a shared games room with a pool table and table tennis. There’s parking right outside the cottage. All the bedding and towels are provided. The kitchen has a washing machine and a dishwasher. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them.
