Swallow Cottage is on our farm on the edge of Gowerton. It's one of two cottages we converted from the old milking barn. The farmhouse is 17th century, but the cottage is modern inside. It's all on one level, which is handy.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The living space is open plan. There's a separate conservatory that looks out over the garden. The garden is about three quarters of an acre, shared with the other cottage but it's big enough that you won't be on top of each other. You get your own patio area.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well equipped. There's a dishwasher, WiFi, parking. Bedding and towels are included. We allow two pets. It's a working farm, so you'll see sheep in the fields, but it's quiet.
Gowerton village is a short walk. There's a couple of shops, a post office, a butcher, a bakery, and some pubs that do food. The train station is there too. You can get a direct train to Cardiff, it takes just over an hour.
For the Gower Peninsula, it's a good base. The coast is about a twenty minute drive. You've got Rhossili, Three Cliffs, lots of beaches. Some are dog friendly. The Visit Wales Gower page has a good list. The National Trust looks after a lot of it.
Closer by, there are cycle paths from the village that go towards Mumbles. Gower Golf Club is five minutes away. Pembrey Country Park is about half an hour's drive. That's got a long beach and a lot of activities.
If you've got a bigger group, you can book Swallow Cottage together with Meadow Cottage next door. That sleeps eight in total.
