Ladywell House is in Falkland village, on the property line. It's a big stone manse built in 1806.
It sleeps twelve. Six bedrooms, five bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it is well looked after. The Diana, Wills and Harry bedrooms are on the ground floor. That's where the royal family stayed when they visited.
The master bedroom has a big roll-top bath in the en-suite. The main drawing room is Georgian, with high ceilings and an open fire. There's a dining room with a long table for fourteen. The kitchen has an Aga.
There are lots of gardens, a sunny terrace, and a big walled garden. Parking is on the gravel driveway. We take up to four dogs.
Falkland Palace is a five minute walk. It's run by the National Trust for Scotland. There's a decent local pub about a fifteen minute walk away, and a shop in the village.
If you want to head out, St Andrews and its golf courses are about half an hour's drive. The Lomond Hills and the Pillars of Hercules are close for walking. The Fife Coastal Path is good if you fancy a longer walk by the sea.
For other days out, Edinburgh is under an hour and a half by car. You can drive to Dundee or Perth in around forty minutes.
What's here: the listed facilities are correct. There's a washing machine, a drying room for wet coats, WiFi, and bedding and towels are included.
