Ivy Cottage is in Falkland, about a minute's walk from the village centre. It's a two-up-two-down sort of place, sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating.
The main living area is open plan, with the kitchen at one end. It was all finished in 2022, so it's clean and works well. There's underfloor heating and a wood burner for the winter. The stairs are open tread and a bit steep, typical for a cottage.
Falkland itself is a proper village. There are a couple of pubs, some tearooms, and a few shops. Falkland Palace is the big draw. You can walk to it from the cottage. The gardens are good to wander around.
For walking, you're right under the Lomond Hills. The Falkland Estate is a few minutes' drive away, with miles of paths through the woods and up the hills. You can walk to the top of East Lomond or West Lomond from there. The coast, like St Andrews or the Fife Coastal Path, is about half an hour by car.
Facilities: it's got a washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's space to store bikes. No pets, sorry.
