Coachman's Cottage is on the Falkland Estate, just outside the village of Falkland. It's a stone cottage in a little courtyard with a clock tower. The courtyard is shared, but the garden at the back is private. It's enclosed, so it's good if you've brought a dog.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. The bathroom is halfway up the stairs, on a sort of mezzanine level. One bedroom has a kingsize bed. The other has two singles that can zip together into a big double.
Inside, it's comfortable. There's a wood-burning stove in the living room. The kitchen has what you need. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-kept. The WiFi works.
You're right in the Lomond Hills Regional Park. You can walk straight out onto the estate. Falkland village is about a mile away. There's a shop, a couple of pubs, and places to eat. The palace and gardens are worth a visit.
If you fancy the coast, the East Neuk villages like Crail and Anstruther are about half an hour's drive. St Andrews is about 25 minutes. Edinburgh is under an hour if you want a city day.
In terms of facilities: parking is on site, there's a washing machine, bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. The entrance is wheelchair accessible, but the bathroom is upstairs, so that's something to be aware of.
