Coachman's Cottage

Coachman's Cottage is on the Falkland Estate, near the village of Falkland in Fife. It's part of a quadrangle of cottages around a courtyard with a clock tower.

It sleeps four. There are two bedrooms. One has a kingsize bed, the other has twin beds that can be made into a super kingsize if you prefer. There's one shower room. It's on a sort of half-floor, halfway up the stairs.

The living room has a woodburning stove. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's an enclosed garden at the back with a table and chairs. A gate from the garden leads down to the parking area.

The estate itself is huge, about 1900 hectares. You can walk straight out from the cottage into the Lomond Hills. The village is about a mile away. It has a shop, a couple of pubs that do food, and some cafes. Falkland Palace is there too, if you're interested in that sort of thing.

You're well placed for getting about. St Andrews is about half an hour's drive. The beaches of the East Neuk, like Elie and Anstruther, are also within half an hour. For a bigger day out, Edinburgh is under an hour and a half by car, or you can get the train from nearby Markinch.

It's a 4 Star rated cottage. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped. It's also wheelchair accessible at the entrance. You can bring up to two dogs.
