Invergyle

This is Invergyle. It's a first floor apartment in a big old building called Liquorstane House, right in the middle of Falkland village. The building used to be a hotel, then a masonic lodge, and now it's flats. There's even a pharmacy downstairs now.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. You get a king-size bed that can be split into two singles if you ask beforehand, and the second room has a double. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and modern inside, done up to a good standard. The windows are big so it's light. From the living room you can see over towards the palace.

The stairs in the main entrance hall are the original ones, quite grand. They've been restored nicely. Our apartment stairs inside are normal.

You're about a two minute walk from Falkland Palace and the village square. The palace is run by the National Trust for Scotland. The village has a few shops, some tea rooms, and a couple of decent pubs that do food. It's a nice place to wander.

Just behind the village is the Falkland Estate, which is miles of woodland for walking or cycling. If you drive for about half an hour, you can get to the Fife coast. The fishing villages like Crail and Anstruther are good for a look around. St Andrews is about 40 minutes away if you want the beach, the university, or the golf.

For facilities, you've got wifi, TV, parking right outside, and all your bedding and towels are provided. There's no garden that comes with this one, just the apartment. Sorry, no pets.
