This is Liquorstane, in Falkland. It's part of a big old building that used to be a hotel, then a masonic lodge. They've split it into three flats now. Ours is one of them. The main entrance hall and the staircase have been kept as they were, which is nice. It feels solid.
It's a two bedroom flat, sleeps four. One king-size bed that can be made into twins if you ask ahead, and one double. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well done. The living area is open plan with a dining space. The windows are big, so it's light. From the top flat you can see the palace.
You're right in the village. Falkland Palace is a couple of minutes' walk. The village itself is lovely, just cobbled streets and old houses. There are a few shops, some good places to eat, and a couple of pubs. The Falkland Estate is on the doorstep for walks. It's proper woodland.
You're about half an hour from the Fife coast. St Andrews is maybe 40 minutes by car if you want the bigger town, the university, or the golf. The fishing villages along the coast are worth a trip. Fife Zoo is about ten minutes away.
For facilities, you've got the basics: washing machine, dishwasher, TV, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking. No pets, I'm afraid.
