The Roondie is on a small holding just outside Ladybank in Fife. It's a round building, an old horse mill. You access it down a rough farm track, so your car might get a bit dusty.
It sleeps two. It's all one open space really, with a clever partition that hides the bed area. There's one wet room with a walk-in shower. The whole place is on the ground floor and is wheelchair accessible. It has a 4 Star rating.
The main thing is the light. It's got three big windows and a glass cupola in the roof, so it feels bright even on a grey day. The kitchen's modern and there's a wood burning stove for the evenings.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden at the front and a private patio area to the side. The owners have rare breed sheep in the fields around.
Ladybank village is about two miles away. It has a shop, a cafe, and a pub. The train station there is useful. You can get to Edinburgh city centre in about an hour, or to Dundee and Perth quicker than that.
If you like golf, the Ladybank course is walkable. You're also within easy driving distance of a lot of other courses, including St Andrews.
For walking, you can go straight from the door into the woods and fields. The Lomond Hills, the Fife Coastal Path, and the Fife Pilgrim Way are all close by for longer walks. The coast with its fishing villages is about a 20-30 minute drive.
In terms of stuff here, it's all included: bedding, towels, wifi, TV, dishwasher, parking. There's bicycle storage if you need it.
