The Roondie is in Ladybank, Fife. It's a round, single-storey building that used to be a horse mill. It's on our small farm with some sheep and ponies. The cottage is detached and you get the garden to yourselves.
It's for two people. There's one open-plan room with the bed and kitchen and sitting area, and a separate wet room shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. Being all on one level and with a walk-in shower, it's suitable if you have limited mobility. The doorways are wide and there's no step at the entrance.
The main thing is the space. It's round, with a high wooden ceiling and big windows. There's a wood burner in the middle. The bed is behind a partial screen, so it's not a separate bedroom. It's a clever use of the shape.
Outside there's an enclosed garden and a patio. You can walk straight from the door into the fields and woods. Ladybank Golf Course is a short walk away. The town of Ladybank is about two miles for a shop, a pub, and a cafe. It has a train station with links to Edinburgh, Dundee, and Perth. You can be in central Edinburgh in under an hour by train.
St Andrews is about a half hour drive. For walking, you've got the Fife Coastal Path and the Lomond Hills nearby. There are plenty of golf courses and other things like the Scottish Deer Centre within a 30 minute drive.
Facilities: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a wood burner, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
