East Lodge

East Lodge is on the eastern edge of the Falkland Estate, just outside Falkland village. It's a detached stone lodge, built in a Tudor style. It was renovated a few years ago.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both rooms have big beds that can be split into twins if you ask beforehand. There are two bathrooms, both with walk-in showers. One is downstairs by the utility room, which is handy if you've been out walking.

The living room has a wood burner. It works, but you'll need to buy your own logs from the village. The kitchen is modern and has a dishwasher. There's a small, enclosed garden with a table and chairs.

Being right on the estate is the main thing. You can step out the gate and straight into the woods and paths. It's very quiet. The village is about a ten-minute walk down the hill. There's a good pub, a couple of places to eat, and a small shop. The palace gardens in the village are worth seeing.

If you want to drive, St Andrews is about half an hour away. The beaches along the coast in the East Neuk are about the same. Edinburgh is under an hour if you avoid the worst of the traffic.

Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, parking for one car right outside. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
