The Stables
The Stables is near the village of Lindores in Fife. It's a detached, old stable block that's been converted. It's listed, so it's got character, not a modern open-plan layout.
It sleeps seven in four bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, which is unusual and handy. The master has a dressing room and a big corner bath.
The floors are maple from an old school gymnasium. The entrance hall has the original flagstones from the stables. The stairs are a standard staircase, not a ladder.
There's a big dining room if you're all eating together. The kitchen has a range and a second oven, so it's set up for cooking for a group. The living room is a good size. There's a woodburning stove.
Outside, there's a garden and a patio with a BBQ. Plenty of parking.
You're out in the countryside. You can walk or cycle straight from the door. The village of Auchtermuchty is about two miles away for shops and a pub. Falkland with its palace is about four miles. Falkland Palace is National Trust for Scotland.
St Andrews is within half an hour. Golf, the university, the beach, the aquarium. If you're into fishing, there's local river fishing.
Facilities: everything's included. WiFi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are provided. We can put out a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, I'm afraid.
