Mill Hall Cottages

Mill Hall Cottages is one half of a stone building, the other half is owned by someone else. It's attached to the back of an old mill, the Craig Mill, on the edge of the village of Newburgh in Fife. The village is set back from the south bank of the River Tay.

It sleeps up to four people. There are two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s got a 4 Star rating. The layout is on three floors, which you should know if stairs are a problem. You come in on the middle floor where the main living area is. Up a flight of stairs is a twin room. Down a flight from the hall is the main bedroom with a kingsize bed and its own shower room.

Outside there's a private courtyard area. It gets the sun, it's enclosed, and it's a nice spot to sit. You can hear the river from there sometimes.

Newburgh has a few shops, a tearoom, and a play park. The Lindores Abbey Distillery is just up the road, a few minutes' walk. They do a well-regarded whisky tour and have a restaurant. The ruins of the original abbey are nearby if you're interested in the history.

For getting out, the start of the Fife Coastal Path is right there. You can walk for miles along the coast from the door. It's mostly flat along that section. There are plenty of golf courses within a half hour drive, and you can go fishing locally.

Dundee is about a 30 minute drive, over the Tay Bridge. It's got the V&A Dundee museum, The Discovery Point ship museum, and a leisure centre with a pool. St Andrews is also about 30 minutes away by car. Perth and Edinburgh are both under an hour's drive if you use the M90.

In terms of what's here: there's parking, WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and a BBQ for the courtyard. Bedding and towels are included. We can take one well-behaved dog.
