You come in through double doors into a hallway. There's a cupboard for coats and boots. The main room is open plan: kitchen, dining table, and living area with sofas. The stairs go up from there to the bedrooms and bathroom. The stairs are a typical cottage staircase. It's all wooden floors and deep window sills. There's a log effect fire.
The kitchen has what you need: dishwasher, washing machine, the usual. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. WiFi and TV are there.
Abernethy itself is small. There's a grocery shop, an artisan shop, and an inn that does food, all a few minutes' walk away. At the top of the lane there's a play park and the entrance to Pitmedden Forest, which is good for walks. The village has a famous old Round Tower and a museum about the Picts.
For a day out, you're well placed. The coast and the Tay estuary are close for walks. There are farm shops, castles like Scone Palace, and distilleries within a half hour drive. St Andrews is about 40 minutes. Perth is 20 minutes for bigger shops or the theatre. You can be in Edinburgh or Glasgow in just over an hour, or head north into the Highlands.
