Goldfinch Cottage is in Settlingstones, Northumberland. It's a modern bungalow, one of three cottages here. My wife and I live on-site in the main house.
It's for two people. One bedroom with a double bed, one shower room. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's clean and comfortable, but it's not huge. It's a good base.
You have your own enclosed garden with a table and chairs. There's also a big shared garden with a BBQ and extra seating that all the cottage guests can use.
The location is the main thing. You're about ten minutes' drive from Hadrian's Wall. Northumberland National Park is right there. For Roman history, Vindolanda is very close and worth a visit.
Haydon Bridge village is a couple of miles away. It has a couple of pubs, a shop, and a cafe. Hexham is about a fifteen minute drive. It's a proper market town with a big supermarket, the Abbey, and other shops.
In terms of what's here: there's a TV, the kitchen has what you need, bedding and towels are included, and there's parking right outside. No pets, sorry.
If you're here with more people, the other two cottages can be booked as well. Together they sleep ten.
