Sunnyside

Sunnyside is in Brigsteer. It's a small village about four miles from Kendal. The cottage itself is Arts and Crafts style. It's detached and you have the garden to yourself.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's well equipped. The main bedroom has two double beds. The second bedroom has a kingsize. There's a family bathroom upstairs with a bath and a separate shower cubicle, and a downstairs loo.

Inside, there's a living room with an open fire. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a separate dining room and a utility room with a washer and dryer. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking on site. WiFi and TV are provided. You can bring up to two dogs.

The garden is enclosed. There's a pub in the village, about a five minute walk. It's a good spot for a pint.

You're right on the edge of the Lake District. Windermere is about a 20 minute drive. You can go on the lake cruises from there, or hire kayaks. Hawkshead and Ambleside are both within half an hour. Beatrix Potter's house, Hill Top, is near Hawkshead. It's run by the National Trust Lake District.

For walking, Esthwaite Water is close by. It's about a mile and a half from the cottage. They have an osprey viewing point there sometimes. The Lake District National Park site has good information on routes.

If you want to go further, the coast at Morecambe Bay or the Yorkshire Dales are both about a 45 minute drive.
