Yan is a lodge on a campsite near Gatebeck, It's not fancy, but it's comfortable and new. You can bring one dog.
It sleeps four. There are two double beds. One is up a ladder on a mezzanine, so you need to be okay with climbing up and down. The other is on the ground floor, partitioned off from the living space. There's one shower room.
Outside, there's a private deck with a hot tub. The view is over fields towards the Lakeland fells in the distance. You get one parking space right by the lodge.
The site is quiet. There's an activity centre here you can use if you book ahead. They do quad biking and shooting. You get a discount if you're staying.
Kendal is about a 15 minute drive. It's a proper town with supermarkets and shops. The edge of the Lake District is maybe 20 minutes away. You can be at Windermere or walking up a smaller fell like Helm Crag within half an hour.
Inside, it's all open plan. There's a kitchenette with a dishwasher, a sofa, and a TV. The WiFi is okay. All bedding and towels are included.
