Jackdaw Cottage is in Knighton. It's a stone cottage, about two hundred years old. It's detached and sits on the Glyndwr's Way footpath, on the edge of town. You can walk into the centre in a few minutes.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating as it was fully renovated last year. The stairs inside are quite steep and narrow, which is typical for a place this old.
The main thing is the garden. It's large, enclosed, and south-facing. It looks out over a wooded valley called the Cwm. You get private access down to the brook at the bottom. It's a good spot to sit out. The garden is secure, so it's fine for dogs and kids.
Knighton has the Offa's Dyke Centre, which is worth a look. There are a couple of pubs, cafes, and a few shops. It's a quiet town.
For a day out, Ludlow is about half an hour's drive. They've got the castle and a good market. Hay-on-Wye is a bit further, maybe forty minutes, for the bookshops. The National Trust's Erddig is just over the border into England and is within thirty minutes. The Visit Wales site for Mid Wales has walking ideas.
Facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a BBQ in the garden.
