Lower Goytre Farmhouse
Lower Goytre Farmhouse is on our farm in Lloyney, near Knighton. It's a three hundred year old farmhouse, detached. You get an enclosed garden.
It sleeps seven, in four bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, which I think reflects that it's comfortable and solid. It's on a working farm, so you'll see sheep and ponies from the garden. The views are over our fields.
The stairs are a bit uneven, and some doorways are low. Just something to be aware of. It's all on one level once you're inside.
You can walk straight from the door. Public footpaths go right through the farmyard. You can walk for miles. Knighton is the nearest town. It's on the border so half of it is in Wales and half in England. There are a few pubs, shops, and takeaways. It's about a ten minute drive.
You're right on Offa's Dyke here. The Offa's Dyke Path is on your doorstep. Knighton has an Offa's Dyke Heritage Centre. The Glyndwr's Way long distance path is close too.
Within half an hour you've got a lot of options. Ludlow is good for food. Church Stretton and the Long Mynd are good for walks. Clun has a castle. Into Wales, Welshpool has the canal and Powis Castle.
Facilities: there's a wood burning stove, dishwasher, washing machine, and parking outside the house. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's a ramp to the front door.
