River Cottage

River Cottage is a bungalow at the end of a track in Heyope. It's detached, so you're on your own. There's a private hot tub in the garden. The garden is enclosed, so it's fine for kids. The view from the patio is over fields.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's open plan inside, so the living, dining, and kitchen area is all one room. There's a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. Parking is right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.

There's a games room on site, shared with the other cottages. It has a pool table and table tennis.

The local pub is about two miles away in Knighton. Knighton is a proper border town, half in Wales and half in England. It's got shops, places to eat, and some old timber-framed buildings. It's a good base for walking. You're right on Offa's Dyke Path here, and the Glyndwr's Way starts in the town.

Within about half an hour you can get to a few places. Ludlow is that way for food and the castle. The Powis Castle gardens near Welshpool are worth the drive. Church Stretton and the Long Mynd are good for a walk. If you don't mind going a bit further, Shrewsbury or the Ironbridge Gorge museums make a full day out.
