Treetop Cabin is in Norton, near Presteigne, in the Welsh borders. It's a proper treehouse, built on a wooded slope. You're high up in the trees, looking out over the valley. It's very quiet.
It sleeps three in one room, so it's a cosy setup. There's one bathroom, but the toilet is separate, in a little cabin at the end of a wooden walkway. It's a composting loo. You'll need to be okay with that.
The main thing is the balcony. It's big, with a hammock. You can sit and look at the view, or listen to the birds and the stream. It's a Dark Sky Area, so the stars at night are very good if it's clear.
The site itself has woodlands and a waterfall you can walk to. The owners run courses sometimes, like green woodworking, if that's your sort of thing.
For a day out, you're about half an hour from Hay-on-Wye for the bookshops, or Ludlow for the food. The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park is about 40 minutes south. The Shropshire Hills are just over the border.
What's here: a woodburning stove for heat, a BBQ outside, bedding and towels are provided, and there's parking. It's glamping, so it's comfortable but simple. No pets.
