Tamarchan Lodge

Tamarchan Lodge is on the edge of Ballachulish. It's a detached house, so there's no one attached to the side. It sleeps nine, which is a lot, in five bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.

The main thing is the view. You look straight out at the mountains. There's decking and a big garden with a pergola and a BBQ. The patio doors open right out so you can sit outside. The garden isn't fenced all the way around, just so you know.

Inside, there's plenty of space downstairs for everyone to sit. It has oil central heating, so it's warm. WiFi works fine. The beds are good. There are bedrooms and bathrooms on the ground floor, which is helpful.

Ballachulish village is a five-minute drive. It has a Co-op supermarket, a pub that does food, a takeaway, and a swimming pool. For a good beach, you need to drive about ten miles.

You're right on the edge of Glencoe. The mountains are right there for walking. Glencoe Mountain Resort is about twenty minutes away for skiing in winter or the chairlift in summer. Fort William is half an hour's drive. You can get the steam train from there to Mallaig over the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

Oban is about forty minutes south if you want boat trips to the islands like Mull. Loch Ness is just over an hour's drive to the east.

For facilities: it has a washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair, and stairgate. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for a few cars. No pets, sorry.
