Aonach Cottage

Aonach Cottage is in Glencoe. It’s about three miles from the village. You're down a single-track farm road for about a mile to get here. It’s very quiet.

It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. The rating is 4 Star. It’s comfortable and well-equipped, not luxurious. The garden is fully enclosed, which is good if you have dogs or kids. You share the fenced area with one other cottage and the farmhouse, but your garden is private.

The view is the main thing. You look straight out at the mountains, including the Aonach Eagach ridge. At night, with no street lights, you can see an incredible amount of stars.

You can walk straight from the door. There are paths up the glen alongside the burn. For serious hiking, the Munros and Corbetts are right there. Be prepared for midges in season.

Glencoe village has a small shop, a cafe, a pub, and a fuel station. Ballachulish, a couple of miles further on, has a small supermarket and a doctor's surgery. Fort William is about 18 miles away for bigger shops. Oban is 36 miles if you want to catch a ferry to the islands.

For outdoor stuff, Glencoe Mountain Resort is about 20 minutes away for skiing or mountain biking. The sea lochs are close for fishing or kayaking.

What’s here: a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, highchair and cot if needed. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking right outside. You can bring up to two dogs.
