Aonach Cottage is in Glencoe. It's about three miles from the village and the sea lochs. The setting is very quiet. You get mountain views right from the windows, including a direct look at the Aonach Eagach ridge.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. You share a big, fully enclosed deer-fenced area with one other cottage and the owner's farmhouse. The access is a one-mile hard-surfaced farm track off the main road.
The garden is yours to use. It's enclosed, so it's safe for dogs or kids. You can walk straight from the door up the glen, following a mountain burn. You don't have to be a serious walker to enjoy it.
Glencoe village has a small shop, a cafe, a pub, and a hotel. Ballachulish is a bit further and has a small supermarket and a doctor's surgery. Fort William is about 18 miles away for bigger shops. Oban is 36 miles if you're thinking of catching a ferry to the islands.
If you're here for the hills, you can walk to a Corbett and a Munro from the cottage. Glencoe Mountain Resort is 20 minutes drive for skiing or mountain biking. The area is famous for climbing and walking. The Glencoe Mountain Resort website has activity info. For general planning, VisitScotland Highlands is useful.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. We provide a cot and a highchair. On-site parking. We allow up to two pets.
The cottage can be booked together with the one next door if you're a larger group.
