It’s called Rocky Mountain View. It’s a semi-detached cottage on the main road through Ballachulish, looking straight up at the mountains up Glencoe way.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It’s got a 4 Star rating. It’s clean and comfortable, no fuss. They’ve kept it that way.
The front door opens right onto the pavement so you have to be careful with small children or a dog. You can park off-road at the back. There’s a small patio garden out there too, which is handy.
The living room is warm. You can have the curtains open and just watch the weather on the mountains.
You’re about a ten minute walk from Loch Leven itself. The Isles of Glencoe hotel has a leisure centre with a pool if you want it. There’s a shop and a pub about 500 yards down the road.
Glencoe village is one mile south. Fort William is about thirteen miles north, so you can get any supplies you need. If you’re here for outdoors things, you’re in the right place.
The cottage itself has what you’d expect. Washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There’s a cot and highchair if you’re bringing kids. You can bring one well-behaved dog.
The reason to book this place is the location. You’ve got Glencoe itself right there for walking or climbing. You can drive up the Great Glen from Fort William, or take the Corran Ferry over to Ardnamurchan. The Nevis Range gondola is not far. If you’re interested in the film history or the Jacobite history, it’s all around you.
