Carness West is in North Ballachulish in the Highlands. It's a detached house. The view is the main thing. The house was built for it, with big windows upstairs and doors out to two balconies so you can see the mountains all around.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The stairs are a bit unusual. They're spiral and quite open, so you need to be careful on them.
You're right by Loch Leven. You can walk down to the water from the house. It's quiet here, but not cut off. The local pub is about a mile away. The nearest proper shop is in the village, about three miles.
If you're outdoorsy, you're sorted. You can go straight out walking or mountain biking. Glen Coe is just down the road for serious climbing. There's skiing at Glencoe Mountain Resort in winter, and it's about a 20 minute drive. Kayaking on the loch is easy to arrange.
Fort William is about a 20 minute drive south. You've got supermarkets there, and the steam train to Mallaig leaves from there. For a big day out, you can drive to Glenfinnan to see the viaduct, or up the Great Glen to Fort Augustus to see the boats on the Caledonian Canal. Both are within half an hour.
For facilities: it's got a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, washing machine, wi-fi, and parking right there. The garden is enclosed. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair. No pets, I'm afraid.
