Bidean Lodge

Bidean Lodge is a bungalow on the edge of Glencoe village. It's detached, so it's just you and the garden. The view straight out the front is mountains. The sea is about a mile away.

It sleeps eight, which feels about right. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's a Four Star, so it's comfortable and has decent facilities. Everything is on one level, so no stairs.

The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've brought a dog. We take one pet.

You've got the basics: parking on the drive, a washing machine, a dishwasher, a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.

Glencoe village has a shop and a couple of pubs that do food. It's a good base for getting out. You're right in the middle of it for walking. Glencoe Mountain is there if you're into winter sports. For boat trips, you're close to places like Ballachulish or Fort William.

If you want to explore further, Fort William is about twenty minutes south. From there you can get the steam train to Mallaig. Oban, for ferries to the islands, is less than an hour's drive.
