The Gatehouse is in Aberffraw, which is a small village on the south coast of Anglesey. It's detached, stands on its own next to the lane. The land around it is all open fields and meadows, so the views are good. You can see the sea and the mountains over on the mainland.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, and two bathrooms which is handy. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not a show home. The main thing is the position.
You're about a quarter of a mile from the village edge. There's a shop, a post office, and a pub about 400 yards away. The pub does meals.
From the back of the property, you can walk straight out onto a huge area of sandy dunes. It's about 600 acres, so it never feels busy. That leads you down to Aberffraw's beach. It's a sandy beach, quite shallow, good for kids. You can also walk to the famous church in the sea, St Cwyfan's, from there.
If you drive, you can be at the ferry terminal for Ireland in half an hour. The edge of Snowdonia is about the same. Beaumaris is a nice town to visit, about 25 minutes away.
For facilities, you've got the basics covered: woodburner, washing machine, WiFi, TV, parking right outside. There's a patio and a barbecue. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
