This is Hendy Plas Marian. It's in Trefdraeth on Anglesey. It's one of three cottages built together, but you have your own space.
It sleeps eight, four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a five star rating so it's well-equipped and comfortable. Being a modern build, everything works simply, like the underfloor heating. It's also designed to be eco-friendly.
The ground floor is all on one level. There's a big kitchen and living area that opens out through bi-fold doors. Two of the bedrooms are down here. One has a shower room that's adapted for wheelchair access. The other has a big window with a view towards Malltraeth and the mountains.
Upstairs are two more bedrooms, both with en-suites and little Juliet balconies looking over the estuary. All the beds can be set up as twins or doubles. There's also another living room up here, which is handy if people want to do different things.
Outside, there's a patio at the back that gets the morning sun. At the front there's a shared lawn and seating area with the other cottages. Each cottage has its own skittle set for the lawn. You have your own parking.
The location is quiet. You can walk down the lane past the old church to Malltraeth. From there you can follow the footpath across the causeway to Newborough Forest. It's a proper nature reserve with red squirrels. The beach at Newborough and Llanddwyn Island is about a 10 minute drive. It's a huge, sandy beach backed by the forest. National Trust Newborough has good information.
You're about 20 minutes from Rhosneigr or Trearddur Bay if you want more seaside towns. The drive to Holyhead is about 15 minutes.
Facilities: everything's included, bedding, towels, WiFi. There's a washing machine, a cot and a highchair. It's all on one level at the ground floor so it works for wheelchair access. No pets, sorry.
