Hendy Plas Marian is in Trefdraeth, on Anglesey. It’s part of a small development of three identical properties.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. Two of those bedrooms are downstairs. The master downstairs bedroom has a big picture window with views towards the coast. Upstairs, there are two en-suite bedrooms with Juliet balconies overlooking the estuary. All the beds can be set up as twins or doubles, which is handy for groups.
It’s a 5 Star property, which means it’s finished to a high standard. The design is modern and open plan. There are big bi-fold doors at the front and back that open right up. It’s all electric, with ground source heating and solar panels. There’s an EV charger on the drive.
The property is fully wheelchair accessible on the ground floor, including one of the bedrooms and the shower room.
Outside, there’s a patio at the back that gets the morning sun. At the front, there’s a shared lawn and seating area with the other cottages. Each property has its own set of skittles or bowls you can use.
You can walk down the lane from the house, past the old church, to Malltraeth. From there, you can cross the estuary on the footpath to Newborough Forest. That whole area, the forest and down to Llanddwyn beach, is really special. It’s managed by Natural Resources Wales. There’s good birdwatching and the red squirrels are thriving there.
In terms of beaches, you’re well placed. Aberffraw’s sand and estuary is about ten minutes away by car. Newborough Beach and Llanddwyn Island are a fifteen minute drive. Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay are about twenty minutes.
For a day out further afield, the edge of Snowdonia National Park is about half an hour’s drive. The Menai Bridge and Caernarfon are within half an hour too.
The facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, cot and highchair. Bedding and towels are included. There’s parking for you on site.
If you’re looking for information on walking or days out, the official sites are often the most reliable: Natural Resources Wales for Newborough, and Snowdonia National Park.
