No.9 The Retreat
No.9 The Retreat is in Rhosneigr on Anglesey. It's a modern townhouse on a new development, so it's all in good condition. It's set back from the main road, so it's quiet, but you're only a couple of minutes' walk from the village.
It sleeps eight. Five bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and comfortable. The ground floor has a kitchen and living area with French doors to the garden. The garden is south facing and enclosed, which is good if you have kids or dogs.
There are three bedrooms on the first floor, and a master bedroom with an ensuite up on the top floor. That one has views towards the sea and the mountains. There's a small adjoining room off the master with a child's bed, suitable for a young child.
Rhosneigr itself is a small village but it's busy, especially in summer. It's very much a water sports place. The beaches are known for surfing and windsurfing. You can get lessons locally if you've never tried it.
Around here, the Llynnon Windmill is worth a visit. It's the only working one on the island. They grind flour and bake bread there. There's a tearoom.
For wider days out, you're on Anglesey so the whole coast is accessible. The Visit Anglesey site has ideas. The National Trust Wales page lists nearby places like Plas Newydd. The Snowdonia National Park is about a 30 minute drive, depending on traffic.
