Leafy Run is one of two lodges here, both sleep eight and have their own hot tub. You're booking Leafy Run specifically. It's detached and modern, with the hot tub on a deck at the back. It's quiet.
Inside it's open plan. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well equipped. The deck and the hot tub are private. Because it's on the edge of Northumberland National Park, the drive in is through woods, which sets the tone. It feels a bit away from things.
Otterburn village is less than a mile for basics. There's a pub about three quarters of a mile away. There's also a restaurant on site, it's been done up. The area is known as a Dark Sky Park, so on a clear night you can see a lot of stars from the deck.
For getting out, you're right on the doorstep of the National Park for walking. Kielder Forest and its observatory are about a 30 minute drive. Hadrian's Wall is very close, you can be at some of the Roman forts in under half an hour. Bellingham is nearby and has a few shops and cafes. Heading east, you can get to the coast with its castles, like Alnwick, in under an hour. Hexham is also within range.
In terms of stuff, it has a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. The parking is right outside. You can bring one dog.
There is another lodge here called Reiver's Rest, so if you have a bigger group you can book both together.
