The Hideaway

The Hideaway is a lodge on a holiday park near Otterburn. It was built in 2018, so everything is still fairly new. It's got a 4 Star rating. It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

It's detached. There's a raised deck with a hot tub and seating. The park is within the Northumberland National Park boundary. You get good dark skies here on clear nights.

The stairs inside are quite steep. The doors are a standard width, so something to note if you're bringing a large pram or wheelchair. The main bedroom has an ensuite. There's parking right outside.

On the park there's a restaurant and a small bar. They open at certain times. There’s also a village shop on site for basics, wine, and beer.

For a bigger shop, Bellingham is about nine miles away. They've got supermarkets, a butcher, and a post office.

You're well placed for Kielder. It's about a 20-minute drive. Good for walking, mountain biking, and water sports. The Kielder Forest page has all the details. The Kielder Observatory is there too, if you're interested in stargazing.

Hadrian's Wall is about a 30-minute drive. The coast is further, maybe an hour to Bamburgh. The Northumberland National Park site is useful for planning walks.

Facilities are what you'd expect: Wi-Fi, a Smart TV, a washing machine, a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry. Everything runs on electricity, which is included.
