Maple Lodge is in Otterburn, right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. It's a lodge built in 2019, on a corner of the park with trees around it. It sleeps six, in three bedrooms, and has two bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, so it's well-equipped and modern.
There's a hot tub on the deck that fits six. Being out here, you get proper dark skies at night. It's a Gold Tier Dark Sky Park, so if it's clear, the stars are incredible.
The layout is all open plan downstairs. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
You can walk to the local pub in about 20 minutes, it's just under a mile away. They serve food. There's also a restaurant on the lodge park itself. The village shop is handy and sells some local bits.
For days out, you're well placed. Kielder Water and Forest Park is about a 30-minute drive. You can do watersports or go to the observatory there. The Border Counties and Scotland are just north, about 16 miles to the border. Bellingham is 9 miles away and has a few shops, a good butchers, and some pubs.
Hadrian's Wall is easily accessible for a drive. The Northumberland coast with all its castles and beaches is maybe an hour away, depending on which bit you head for.
