Reiver's Rest
This is Reiver's Rest, a lodge in Otterburn. It's detached and sits at the top of the park, right against the woods. You can walk straight out from the back.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. We renovated it all in 2018 so everything's in good order. It's open plan inside.
Outside, there's a raised deck that gets the sun. It faces south. The hot tub is out there, it's private. You get parking right by the lodge.
Inside, you've got the usual things: TV, dishwasher, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
The site has its own restaurant. The village of Otterburn is less than a mile away for a shop and a pub. There's a wedding venue about a mile from here, which is why some people book.
You're on the edge of the Northumberland National Park here. The drive in is through woods, so it feels quiet. Because it's in the Dark Sky Park, the stars at night are very clear if it's not cloudy.
For days out, you're well placed. Hadrian's Wall is a few miles away. Bellingham is close and has pubs and shops. Kielder Water and Forest are about a 30 minute drive. The coast, like Alnwick and its castle, is around an hour.
