Spindle Well Barn
Spindle Well Barn is on our farm just outside Elsdon. It's a one bedroom place, sleeps two. We did it up a few years ago. It's got a wood burner and wooden floors. It's cosy.
It's a 4 Star place. That means it's comfortable and has everything you need.
You're right in the Northumberland National Park. The barn is in the yard of our working farm, which is about 650 acres. It's quiet. You can walk straight from the door onto the footpaths. There's a garden area for you.
Elsdon village is peaceful. There's a pub about a mile and a quarter walk down the lane. They do food. For a shop, you'd need to drive about four and a half miles, or get a supermarket delivery. Bellingham is nine miles away for more bits and pieces.
We're in the Dark Sky Park. On a clear night, you can see the stars really well from outside the barn. Kielder Forest and its observatory aren't far.
You can get to plenty from here. Hadrian's Wall is within half an hour. The Northumberland coast, with all its castles and beaches, is about an hour's drive. Hexham is 25 miles for a market town. Newcastle is about 30 miles if you want a city day.
Inside there's the wood burner, a TV, wifi, a washing machine, and a shower. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid, because of the farm.
