Spindle Well Barn is on our farm near Elsdon. It's a converted stone barn, so it's one big open space downstairs with the kitchen, living area, and a wood burner. Upstairs is the bedroom and bathroom. It sleeps two.
It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and has everything you need. It was done up a few years ago. The floors are wood, and it's easy to keep warm.
You're right in the Northumberland National Park. You can step out the door and go for a walk straight onto the farm tracks or into the hills. It's very quiet. We're a working farm, so you'll see sheep.
The village of Elsdon is about a mile away. There's a pub there that does food. For a bigger shop, you'd drive to Bellingham, which is about nine miles.
Because there's so little light pollution here, it's part of the Dark Sky Park. On a clear night, you can see the stars really well. Kielder Forest and its observatory aren't far if you're interested in that.
You're in a good spot for getting to other places. Hadrian's Wall is about a 30 minute drive. The Northumberland coast, like Craster or Alnwick, is under an hour. Hexham is about 40 minutes away, and Newcastle is around an hour if you fancy a city day.
What's here: parking right outside, the wood burner, a washing machine, WiFi, and a TV. All bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
