Blue House Cottage
Blue House Cottage is in Elsdon, right in the village. It's a two bedroom place that sleeps four. The rating is 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well looked after.
It's attached to the back of the pub. You look out over the village green, which is supposedly one of the biggest in England. The living room has beams and there's a wood burning stove. The stairs are a bit steep, like most old cottages.
You've got two bedrooms upstairs, one bathroom, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We accept one well behaved dog.
The village itself is quiet. There's a 13th century church and a 15th century pele tower you can see. The pub next door does food. The nearest shop for groceries is in Otterburn, about four miles away.
You're in the Northumberland National Park, so walking is right on the doorstep. For a day out, you're about half an hour from Hadrian's Wall. Kielder Water is also within half an hour. The Northumberland coast, like Alnmouth or Craster, is about a 40 minute drive. Alnwick Castle and Gardens is roughly the same.
