Blue House
Blue House is in Elsdon, on the village green. It's a proper stone house, you can't miss it. Built a long time ago, 1782 I think. You get the whole garden to yourselves. It faces west so you get the sun in the evenings.
It sleeps seven. Four bedrooms upstairs, two bathrooms. One shower room is downstairs which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up recently so it's clean and comfortable, but it's still an old house. The stairs are normal, not a spiral staircase or anything.
There's a pub about a minute's walk away on the green. They do food. The nearest shop is in Rothbury, about three miles.
You're right in the middle of Northumberland here. For walking, you're on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. National Trust North East has a lot of local places like Wallington. The Northumberland National Park site is good for maps.
Within half an hour you can get to Rothbury for cafes, or Bellingham. Hexham is about 25 minutes, that's a proper market town. If you want the coast, Alnmouth or Druridge Bay are within 30-40 minutes.
What's here: There's a wood burner in the living room, it's in a big old fireplace. The kitchen has a dishwasher. There's a washing machine, WiFi, parking for two cars on the drive. Bedding and towels are included. We can put up a cot and a highchair. You can bring one dog.
