Blue House
Blue House is in Elsdon. It's right on the green, which is the middle of the village. It's a stone house, double-fronted. It's from 1782, so it's old.
It sleeps seven across four bedrooms. There are two bathrooms, one with just a shower downstairs. The rating is 4 Star, so it's been kitted out well.
The main room has a wood burner in a big old fireplace. It's the original inglenook. It heats the place nicely. There's a separate dining room and the kitchen is modern.
The garden is large and faces west, so you get the afternoon sun. It's enclosed, which is good if you've brought a dog.
Speaking of which, we accept one well-behaved pet.
The pub is very close, about 110 yards away and does food. The nearest shop is about three miles away in Rothbury, so it's best to come prepared.
You're on the edge of Northumberland National Park here. It's quiet and good for walking straight from the door. Otterburn is about ten minutes by car. Hexham is maybe half an hour, and it's a proper market town with a big abbey. Alnwick with its castle and gardens is just under an hour. The coast is a bit further, maybe 45 minutes to an hour to places like Alnmouth.
The facilities are all there: wifi, washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair if needed. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking.
