The Old Barn
The Old Barn is in Acrise, next to our farmhouse. It's a converted barn, so the rooms are big. It’s not fancy but it is solid and clean. You get your own bit of the farmyard, which is gated.
It sleeps seven. There are four bedrooms upstairs and one bathroom. The stairs are a bit steep, it's an old building. The rating is 4 Star, which means it’s comfortable.
Because it's a working farm, you'll see sheep and maybe chickens in the fields around you. You can walk straight out from the door onto the footpaths. There’s a games room in one of the other farm buildings with a pool table.
The local pub, The Five Bells, is about three miles away in Brabourne. They do good food. For a shop, you’ll need to drive to Elham, which is two miles.
It’s very quiet here. If you want things to do, Folkestone is 5 miles one way and has the Creative Quarter. Dover is 8 miles the other way for the castle and the white cliffs. Canterbury is about 10 miles. That’s where the cathedral is and you can go on the river. Wingham Wildlife Park and Port Lympne are both within half an hour if you’ve got children with you.
Facilities are all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, and parking right outside. You can bring one dog. Bedding and towels are included. We’ve got a cot and a highchair if you need them.
