Byre Cottage is on Maxted Street, near Canterbury. It used to be an oak barn. It's one of three converted barns on our property, but you've got your own balcony that looks out over the farm fields.
It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. Everything's clean and works, but it's not luxurious.
The layout is open plan downstairs. The stairs up to the bedroom are steep, like a lot of old barn conversions. Something to be aware of if you've got bad knees.
You're welcome to use the shared garden and there's a hot tub you can book time in. There's also a massage therapist on site, which you can pay for if you want one.
It's a quiet spot. The local pub is a mile away, it does food. The nearest shop is about two and a half miles.
For days out, Canterbury is about twenty minutes by car. The cathedral's there. Sissinghurst Castle Garden is a bit further. Whitstable's on the coast, about a half hour drive. They do the oysters there.
If you're bringing bikes, there's storage. We allow up to two dogs. Parking is right outside the cottage. Bedding and towels are included.
