The Deer Loft is in Brook, near Wye. It's a detached loft space above our old cart shed. It's just for two people.
You'll see deer in the field most days. You'll hear woodpeckers and owls at night. It's very quiet.
The place has a 4 Star rating. It's open plan, with a sitting area, a small kitchen, and the bedroom at one end. The kingsize bed is in an alcove with an ensuite shower room. There are stairs up to the front door.
Outside, there's a private garden area below with a bistro set and a fire pit. We're in a valley, so it can feel sheltered.
It's on the edge of the Wye Downs Nature Reserve. You can walk straight onto The Pilgrims Way and the North Downs trails from the gate. The village of Wye is five minutes away by car. It has a couple of good pubs, a shop, and a train station.
Canterbury is about 25 minutes away for the cathedral and shops. Folkestone and the coast are about 20 minutes in the other direction. Hythe is similar.
The facilities are what you'd expect. Wifi, TV, washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There's parking right outside.
For planning walks or days out, National Trust South East and Kent Downs National Landscape have good information.
