Malthouse Barn
This is Malthouse Barn. It's a small, detached place in Hastingleigh, Kent. It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom.
The barn sits in our own land, about 26 acres of woods and fields. It's quiet. You can sit out on the decking and look down the valley. We sometimes see deer there.
Inside it's open-plan. There's a wood burner. We leave you a basket of logs when it's cold. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious.
The stairs to the mezzanine bedroom are steep. They're proper cottage stairs, so watch your head. We've mentioned it in the details.
You can walk to two pubs from here. The closest is about a mile. Wye village is four miles away for more shops and cafes. They have a farmers' market every other Saturday.
Canterbury is a 20-minute drive. Ashford station is about 15 minutes, and from there you can get the fast train to London. Folkestone and the Channel Tunnel are also 15 minutes away.
There are some famous gardens nearby if you're interested, like Sissinghurst and Great Dixter. All run by the National Trust or English Heritage. Good walking country, this is part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The barn has a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. We include all bedding and towels. You can bring up to two dogs.
