The Stable
The Stable is next to our farmhouse in Folly Town. It's a detached building, so you won't be sharing any walls. It's small but it's got everything for two people.
It's all on the ground floor. One main room with the kitchen, dining and living space, then a good sized double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. It's got beams and wooden floors, so it feels like an old building, but everything works properly. It's got a 4 Star rating.
You can bring one dog. There's a patio and garden area for you to use that looks out over the fields. It's very quiet here.
For facilities, there's a TV, WiFi, a washing machine, and parking right outside. All bedding and towels are included.
The location is good if you like walking or cycling. We're in the Kent Downs, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The North Downs Way is on the doorstep. There's a lake nearby you can walk to.
The nearest shop and pub is about three miles away in the village. It does food.
Canterbury is about a twenty minute drive. The cathedral is the main thing to see, but the city centre is nice to wander around. The coast is about half an hour. Dover Castle and the white cliffs are that way. Deal is a bit further along and has its castle too. The English Heritage website has details for those.
If you wanted a day trip to France, you can drive to Dover for the ferry, or get the Eurostar from Ashford. That's about thirty minutes by car.
