The Barn At Fishponds
The Barn At Fishponds is in Brook, Kent. It's a single-storey barn conversion, so everything's on one level. It sleeps up to four, but it's one open-plan bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed in the living area. So it's best for a couple, or a couple with two kids.
It's got a 4 Star rating. It's very clean and well put together. The main thing is the view. The big patio doors look straight out over fields. You do see deer out there quite often.
The location is quiet. You're on a working farm, but it's set back from the road. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you've got a dog or small children. There's parking right outside.
Inside, it's all open plan. The kitchen, living area and bed are in one big space. There's a proper walk-in shower in the bathroom. It's got a washing machine, TV, and WiFi. All your bedding and towels are included.
For food, you'll need to drive. There are some good pubs about five minutes away by car. The village of Wye is close, it's got a few nice places to eat. Canterbury is about a 15-20 minute drive. You can spend a day there at the Cathedral and the shops.
It's good for walking. You're right on the edge of the North Downs. For planning routes, the North Downs Way National Trail site is useful. The Kent Downs National Landscape site has more information on the area.
No pets, sorry. And because of the open-plan layout, it's not suited to more than one family sharing.
