This is Horseshoe Cottage in Chalksole, Kent. It's a single-storey cottage, so everything's on the ground floor. That makes it pretty straightforward. There are two other cottages here as well, Dairy and Saddler's.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. Everything's clean and in good order. It's got a Four Star rating. The garden is enclosed and private, which is good if you've got dogs or kids. You can bring up to two dogs.
Inside, you've got a woodburning stove, which works well. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. The WiFi is fine for normal things. Parking is right outside.
The village of Alkham is about a mile away. There's a pub there that does food. The nearest shop is about three miles, so you'll want to drive.
For the coast, St Margaret's Bay or Dover are about a twenty minute drive. Dover Castle is a big one. It's run by English Heritage, so it's a full day out. You can see France on a clear day. English Heritage Dover Castle.
Canterbury is about half an hour away. The cathedral is the main thing. It's a World Heritage Site. Canterbury Cathedral. The city's good for a wander and some shopping.
If you fancied going over to France, the ferry from Dover is the quickest way. Or the train from Ashford. Folkestone and the Creative Quarter are worth a look too, that's about twenty five minutes.
We've got bike storage if you bring cycles. There are some good routes around here. The North Downs Way isn't far. North Downs Way.
That's about it. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
